Food Supply Issues to Consider

By Lance Winslow Many organic food gurus and proponents are very much against GM Crops. Personally I am not and I see the companies that do the research as truly leading the way to figuring out how to feed the World. There are food shortages and more people being born every minute. There are also issues with water supplies in many regions running dry and too many people to feed. No water means no agriculture either. For those against the issues of certain additives used in food processing, I am with you on the getting rid of infiltrated food and some of these additives, but not all. You see, I believe that there are realities on other issues of depleted soil, insecticide (over-use) and some issues in food processing that need to be more scrutinized. Indeed, I like most understand the potential problems and issues with playing god prematurely with some GM crops and we must keep and eye on this and do more research to insure we get it right. In fact, I am actually a proponent of GM Crops with due diligence, research and proper understanding of enzymes, RNA, DNA, switches, etc. Most concerned about water issues, pollination and feeding 10 Billion People by 2015 if we have excessive droughts in many regions of the world and continued Wars, tearing apart civilizations. Well, these are some thoughts for the GM Protestors and that lady in the news who found a worm in her Apple and wanted to sue. I like my Apples, without worms, thank you very much. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you. “Lance Winslow” - If you have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives, come think with Lance; http://www.WorldThinkTank.net/. Small Business Marketing: How to Build Profitable Bridges Over an Ocean of Customer Mistrust

By Rod Davis About four years ago I had a great idea for an article that I couldn’t quite put into words. Recently, I ran across a video created by Michael Chaney which outlined a similar concept that I wanted to communicate to my customers. This video really helped me finish my own article was very similar to his analogy. In his video he outlines an important concept which business owners must understand when connecting with their customers and getting them to pull out their wallets or open their check books. Here is his same concept in my own words. When you are approaching your customers, there is a large gap between you and them. You are on an Island, they are on land and the gap between you represents an ocean of mistrust. All your customers see are you trying to get them to come across this ocean to your “island.” To the customer, this ocean can be a scary place. They will face many dangers and perils when trying to cross to get to your island safely. Your customers don’t know how deep the water is, if it has sharks, or if they can safely wade across. Your customer have all heard horror stories of people getting swept away by waves, eaten by sharks, stung by jellyfish or getting caught in the middle of a storm. Many customers are terrified to take the first step. There are many things that will keep your customers from reaching your island. That is why it is important business owners to build solid bridges to help your customers overcome the fear and obstacles of coming to your island. A bridge represents a solid, clear path that ensures your customer is not “eaten by sharks” or subject to other perils in the process of reaching their destination. It also facilitates the process of becoming prospect, client or customer. If you are a business owner who is letting your prospects drown before they reach your island, here are some of the things you can do to gap the bridges between you and your potential customers and clients. Find out Your Customers Wants and Fears Part of building profitable bridges starts by understanding your customer’s wants and fears. This way you can address this when you are trying to make better connections with your customers. Give some Useful Information that saves time and money One of the easiest ways to gain customer trust and loyalty is to provide useful and helpful information that helps position you as the expert in your area. This will increase your credibility and help alleviate any fears and objections they have with doing business with you. You can do this through free reports, articles, press releases and information that attack the common problems your prospects face in relating to your business. At the end of the information, you can create a small pitch for you business. Your clients will definitely appreciate any information good, free information that saves them time and money. Allow your Customers to Easily Access your Information Once you have some valuable information to provide your customer, you need to get it into their hands and allow them to easily access it. You can do this via an 800 number, web site, blog, audio recording, or even a pdf document. These are just three of the ways to lead customers to your business. There are countless other ways to do this if you use a little creativity. The main thing you need to remember is to find out what your customers wants and fears and build bridges to help them. When you are marketing your business, remember that there are hundreds, thousands and sometimes even millions of people that can benefit from you business. These people are all sitting on a beach trying to figure out how to get to your island. The more you facilitate that process, the more success you will have gaining new prospects, clients and customers. What the Heck is a Campaign and Why Do I Need to Do One?

By Joy Gendusa Many people ask me, What is a postcard campaign, exactly? And why do I need one? As I have been educating my clients one on one for years now, I suddenly had the bright idea that I needed to explain this for more than just one at a time and in further detail. So here goes Campaigns for marketing are, in a nutshell, a series of repeat mailings that are strategically planned so that there is maximum benefit (more new customers) for your business. Nota bene (that means take note in Latin and I do mean take note): If you are not doing repeat mailings then you are flushing money down toilet. Why is this true? Basically, because people hold onto your postcard for a while. They can hold onto your postcard for six months. They will even hold on to your card for three years. When you repeat your mailings to those same people, your chances of them responding just got greater. Repeat mailings cannot be repeated enough. A one shot in the dark postcard mailing is not going to change your business, your bottom line, your life or your anything. So, if you are not up to confronting that you need to do a campaign then maybe you shouldnt be in business. And that may sound harsh it is harsh. Its a harsh world. And I want you to succeed in it. Why do businesses fail in the first three years? Because they dont have enough people paying money to them for their services. The bottom line is, they dont market they dont get people buying their stuff. Thats the whole point of marketing. Yes, some promotion is better than no promotion. But the great thing about marketing campaigns is that you will be more able to predict your growth. Your income is dependent upon how much communication you put out on a subject. Its relative to that. If you put out a blast of communication you will get inflow - prospects, customers calling or coming in and buying. Yes, once that initial blast goes out you will get some business from referralssome. But you want that blast repeated over and over and over to get the inflow that it will generate consistently. You could almost make a big flow chart of what will happen. Say you send out 5000 postcards. Out of that 5000, 150 hang onto your postcard. Out of that 5000, so many call the 1st week. Out of that 5000, so many call the 2nd week. Out of that 5000, so many call the next month. Out of that 5000, so many call in 6 months. Out of that 5000, so many never call There is a dwindling inflow from that first mailing and therefore can give a false impression of what occurs from one mailing. Someone sends out a postcard and says, I only got four responses from my mailing! But there is a whole dynamic that is going on that is continuing from that one mailing way after the person who sent the mailing expects things to happen. Think about it. Do you jump at every single advertisement that you get bombarded with that you think is a good idea? If you do, you are either a millionaire or broke. But most likely, you see some advertisement that catches your interest and say to yourself that youd like to check that out some day. Then, you see it again and remember that you wanted to check that out one day. And then, you see it again and this time you decide to check it out. Or you file it away and when you pay off that credit card, you pull out your file and visit that store that advertised the rug you wanted to buy for your living room. Victoria Secret, Ballard Designs any reputable catalog company will mail you catalogs multiple times! Are you getting the picture yet? You want continuous and consistent growth. So what do you do? Look at this scenario: What if, You send out 5000 postcards one week and you have all that going on that I mentioned above. You send out 5000 the next week and you have all that going on that I mentioned above. You send out 5000 the next week and that dwindling flow chart is going on, on each one of those outflows. What is going to happen? Mmmh, let me see Eventually it is going to snowball its coming in from all different places! You are really putting your communication out there consistently in a big way. And yes, it costs a lot of money to do it. So, FIND THE MONEY. FIND THE MONEY. If you are going to borrow money to do a business, spend that borrowed money on marketing! This is the thing about capital investment people get money to start their business. They give themselves a nice big salary, they buy really great furniture, computers, a building, and so forth. Thats not where they should be spending their money. They should be spending their money on marketing and promotion and getting their name out there. And then all that money from the sales that come in should be spent on upgrading their computer or designing a fabulous office. Then and only then. Back to campaigns and mailing out boo coo each week. Start with a list and mail to one list one week, another list the next week and another list the following week. Then you rotate those lists again. And again. And again. Now you ask - what if you only have one list? You can still rotate one list. And it is always good to put it on a spreadsheet or a flow chart to track what you are doing and what you have already done. For instance: You get one list of 6000 identities. You can mail to 2000 one week, 2000 the next week and 2000 the third week. Then you rotate. There are your three different lists! OK, you got the point. The next thing to know about campaigns is that there are two different types of marketing campaigns. There is the campaign to get your customers to keep buying from you so they dont go elsewhere. And then there is the campaign to get new business in. Once you have gotten new business in, then those customers (that once were prospects) get the repeat-customer campaign. Where does one start? The first thing you should do when starting out and thinking of a marketing campaign is to start with your own customers. Say youve been in business 5-10 years and have hit a plateau; start by mailing out to your own customers that have been with you and already know you are good. And then once you get your income up a little bit, start the second campaign to market to new customers. But then, if you have the money just figure out how to do both. Dont go out to eat quite as much. Dont buy that new Lexus (yet!). Dont invest in that piece of real estate right now. Put your money back in your business. If you have made all your money with your business, well then that business is the goose that is laying the golden egg (for the eventual Lexus), so put that money back in your business first. Go ahead and spend the newly earned money on both the new customer and customer retention campaigns. Sure, be selfish; you earned it but just be patient. Wait until your marketing is really paying off and you couldnt stop the influx of business if you tried. Above, I am speaking to someone that has gotten very comfortable in their own income and doesnt necessarily want to cut their own income to grow their business. But if you have a new business and really only have twelve customers, then you have to do a campaign to get new customers. And it costs money; it will be a big expense. So buy a used computer on Ebay. Most of the $10,000 you borrowed from your dad to start up should be spent on marketing. Work out of your bedroom on a used computer, then sell and deliver your product or service. When youve sold plenty. then you pay yourself (when Dads paid off and you actually have money). To get back to what we were discussing: just mail to the list for a while and rotate through it. It will pay off, I promise. Who do you mail to? Say you have a product that only goes into and works in an American made car. And say that you notice that the customers you have are between the ages of 40 to 60 years old. Well, find out from a list company how many people in a ten-mile radius or five-mile radius there are that fit that description in your area. Or, look at your own customer base and find out where they live and then find out how many other people fit that demographic in their area. That is your list! OK, so you get with a list company and there are 20,000 identities with that demographic. The catch is you can only afford 1/3rd or 1/8th of that to start with. Fine! Take 5000 identities from that 20,000 and start. Divide your campaign into three-week segments. Mail out 1/3rd one week, 1/3rd the next week, 1/3rd the following week. You can mail the same postcard to all segments of the list. The campaign aspect is that on mailing 2,3,4 and so on all your postcards should look similar. Not the same, but similar. You could do a three-card, four-card, five-card campaign. Look and feel should match. Your logo is in the same place each time, your color scheme is the same, etc. You have got to come up with your look and feel beforehand. I suggest that you design and mail the first one and check for results. You can tweak it, but choose your basic colors FIRST. Do a little research. Which colors communicate to you the most? Be your own survey person. Love your mail piece. Dont sign off on anything a designer came up with if you dont love it. Youll imbue it with results. Itll pull better if you love itsounds nutty, but its true. One thing about campaigns is that you have to commit to a campaign. Commit. Wherever you buy your marketing services from, commit to a campaign. Let them design all five pieces at once. I dont suggest printing them all at once. Tweak the design on the others if you need to as you go. Consumers rarely get multiple postcards from a business. Yet it is such a brilliant idea. When I receive multiple postcards, I take a look. I think, Hmmm, these guys are still contacting me. That shows persistence, it shows credibility. You are building credibility with a campaign. That is the point. So, hit em again, Sam. A campaign is mailing to the same people over and over and over again. The point is you want to hit your prospects with different communication about the same thing or hit them with different products with the same look and feel. The rest will come. A great movie had a great quote that rings true through and through, Build it and they will come. However, people usually think that it means put a building there and people will come. Or they build a web site and expect people to come. No, you have to drive customers to your business. So, Build it and they will come should actually have been Build your marketing campaign and they will come. Because what you are building with a marketing campaign is credibility. You are building your business through communication. You are communicating consistently, so much that people will believe you (credibility) and they will respond; they will come, they will spend. Big Brother is Watching

By M. Yates In recent years there has been increased emphasis of the need for financial service providers to Know Your Customer. This has come to refer the need to obtain satisfactory proof of identity and address documents and to take up references and may in some cases have obscured the necessity for such persons to have a greater in depth knowledge of their clients, their assets and their activities. Why, you may ask? One reason is that such knowledge is invaluable in ensuring that any advice given is appropriate to the circumstances and another that the advisor is increasingly at risk of prosecution if the tax authority already has information relating to a possible fraud and which the advisor might be expected to discover if it is conducted thorough due diligence. In the U.K. the tax authorities take the view that offshore structures present a major risk of serious fraud and devote considerable resources to uncovering such arrangements and adopt an increasingly robust approach to existing reporting requirements. We outline some of their methods in this article and although reference is to the U.K. this is a subject, which is equally relevant to other countries, which also adopt sophisticated methods and allocate extensive resources for the same purpose. Undisclosed offshore banking accounts The Offshore Fraud Projects Team (OFPT) is seeking information from financial advisors about their customers and the movement of funds offshore. In particular, it is asking banks for information in respect of customers for whom they have moved funds offshore using third parties or suspense accounts, thereby bypassing the customers own accounts. The OFPT is also writing to taxpayers whom it has reason to suspect have offshore banking accounts, enquiring why there is no tax liability in respect of those accounts. The holding of such accounts is not itself evidence of fraud but in the absence of a prompt reply, a formal investigation may be opened. Offshore credit and debit cards Following the example of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the tax authority is establishing a project to identify taxpayers who have credit cards or debit cards issued by offshore banks, investigating the use of those cards in the U.K. and obtaining information directly from the credit card companies. Once again, possession of a card such as these is not evidence of fraud, but it is another way of obtaining additional information. Persons who are resident in the U.K. but not domiciled there, will need to be extra vigilant and ensure that use, in the U.K., of cards issued offshore does not inadvertently constitute a remittance for income tax or capital gains tax purposes. European Saving Tax Directive The Directive requires paying agents (banks etc.) to report any savings income they pay to individuals resident in a prescribed territory. Prescribed territories are the 25 EU member states, Aruba, British Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Montserrat and the Netherlands Antilles. Paying agents in these territories make similar reports thereby establishing a network for the exchange of information. Existing reporting arrangements These are under close scrutiny. The objective is to identify unreported offshore structures, how they were funded and where their income arises and to check whether taxpayers have failed to report and pay tax on income or capital distributions. There is an obligation on any person resident in the U.K. (other than a barrister), who in the course of a trade or profession has been concerned with the making of a settlement by a U.K. domiciled settlor, where the trustees are non-resident, to provide details to the Revenue. The report must be made within three months. We understand that the words concerned with are being widely interpreted to include persons through whom funds are remitted, which would include banks and professional firms. We also understand that the Revenue have been writing to U.K. parent companies to enquire whether their offshore subsidiaries have made these returns and that a number of non-U.K. financial institutions have provided information leading to the discovery of previously unreported trusts. Where the Revenue has been unsuccessful in obtaining information from non-resident trustees, it will generally put pressure, under threat of penalties, upon U.K. resident settlors and beneficiaries, even though these persons may have no power to compel provision of the information. Other sources of information The Revenue has power to obtain information from third parties and of course from the targeted taxpayer. The Centre for Revenue Intelligence holds an extensive database, including the registration of aircraft, yachts and motor vehicles and on gold and silver and car valuations, bank, building society and mortgage interest and property transactions Finally, or perhaps not, information is gathered from informers, information exchange agreements, double taxation treaties and surveillance operations. A Guide to Brochure Printing

By Max Bellamy Brochure printing can be easy if you first identify your needs and have a clear sense of your budget. Whether it is for is a real estate listing, a trade show handout, a data sheet, or another application, brochures are a great promotional tool. Start with a layout that includes the text and images you will need to convey your message. Then choose the type of printing that best suits your brochure. Brochures are typically printed in more than one color. There are two basic choices in printing: offset printing and laser or digital printing. Both printing processes are capable of producing large quantities of high-quality documents. Most high quality, full-color commercial printing is done on offset presses using the four-color process. Offset printing is a process whereby ink is spread on a metal plate with etched images, is transferred to an intermediary surface, and is then applied to paper by pressing the paper against the intermediary surface. Although set-up costs can be relatively high, the actual printing is generally inexpensive. Laser or digital printing uses a laser beam to produce an image; this is also the way copy machines work. Offset printing usually produces clearer, crisper type and higher resolution images than laser or digital printing. However, smaller printing jobs can be done on a small low-volume laser or inkjet printer, or at a copy store, thereby eliminating set-up fees and some shipping costs. Choosing paper is another very important aspect of brochure printing. Most printers will recommend a heavyweight, coated, or glossy paper to achieve a more vibrant, upscale look. The folding of your brochure is another key consideration. Basic folding options include: the half fold or single fold, the tri fold (the left and right flaps open), and the Z fold (which opens up like an accordion). Almost all printers will give you a greater discount the more you print. Brochure printing can be easy and fun and allow for a good deal of self-expression, so go ahead, what are you waiting for? Print that brochure. Brochure Printing Info provides detailed information about cheap, color, and full color brochure printing services, and advice on finding a brochure printing company and quote. Dating + Seduction + Confidence = Girls - Girls - Girls

By Joqtan Anicama So, you’ve decided to change yourself for the better. You’ve read countless dating advice books, and you’ve tried numerous techniques and “magic bullets” to become more successful with women. Now, upon meeting a girl, you carefully watch her reactions to every word you say. You calibrate your “game” to how she behaves, and every muscle of your body homes in on seducing that girl. My friend, this is BULLPOOP - in all caps. You know what separates successful guys from chumps who are never successful with women? Attitude. The attitude of: “Who cares?” You’ve no doubt had times in your life when you worked hard to learn a certain ability or skill. You had small successes, but the “big breakthrough” seemed far away and unreachable. Then at some point, you got fed up with your failures, decided “not to give a SHIT” and went on with your life with an attitude of “Who cares?” Suddenly, within a few weeks or months, you found yourself reaching your desired goal. With me, the same thing happened when I started learning how to attract women. For months and years of my life, I piled up failure after failure. Then when I was really scraping the bottom, I decided to throw everything out the window. I just went on with my life and started doing what I wanted to do. Then suddenly, I found that I had more and more women around who were into me, and I found myself achieving the success I’d always desired. You know what most people are looking for? They aren’t looking for a bigger car, a hotter girlfriend or more power. Deep inside, they’re looking for MORE FREEDOM - they just don’t know it yet. Freedom means not being influenced by your external circumstances - when shit happens, you shake yourself off and move on with a “who cares?” attitude … because shit always happens, but FREEDOM is something no one can take away from you. Take the nerd and the player. Both are dependent on women: The nerd is unhappy because he’s alone; the player needs the constant validation he gets from girls who are into him. Then there’s the guy who’s FREE. He’s learned to live the life he enjoys; thus, he’s happy whether he’s alone or with a girl. Let’s say our guy meets a hot girl, and instead of working to please her, he simply gives what he is (himself). If she likes it, she can take it and be a part of his life. If she doesn’t like it, she can move on - it’s her decision. But still, our guy is FREE and thus, he is happy - whatever she decides. He isn’t influenced by her decision. Whether you admit it or not, it’s widely known that it’s the girl who chooses. She can reject you when you approach her; she can reject you when you go in for a kiss; she can reject you when you’re about to have sex. The only thing you can control is YOUR OWN REACTION. You can react with anger - you can react with fear (how am I ever going to find another girl like her?) - or you can simply react with: Who cares? Now I’ll let you in on the “secret of the ages ;)”: There is nothing more attractive to a woman than a man who is FREE. A man who does what pleases him, a man who goes after what he wants and lives out his deepest desires and the life he craves. Such a man might not be able to bed 100 percent of the women out there, but he will always have a lot of girls around him - coming back for more. Finally, a word of warning: “Who cares?” is not about carelessness and depression. It’s possible to reach a state in your life when you stop caring about anything - but that’s simply self-destructive. What I’m talking about is real FREEDOM. And freedom can only come when you learn to control your emotions and walk on the road of happiness and self-discovery - which is a journey toward living an authentic life and being your own man - a Real Man - the Real YOU. If you are looking for a helping hand, I suggest you check out my site The Pimp Playground. It will teach you how to get from saying “Hi!” to having sex, but it will also guide you on your journey to be FREE - to find what really works for you and to find balance in your life - and with women as well. Pareto Chart You Say?

By James Louis One of your department heads looks at you and asks Ishiwhat? You know, you reply, a fishbone diagram. Still blank stares. Cause and effect? you say as you scribble out a trout carcass on your white board. Still nothing. Youre starting to think the elevator doesnt go all the way to the top. Youve got your work cut out for you. So you decide to punt. Ok, lets just start with the Pareto charts, you concede. Sir, what is a potato chart? asks another supervisor. Lets take a five minute stretch break and then meet back in here so that I can welcome you to the world of Pareto charts. A Pareto chart looks similar to a bar chart. It has columns and it also has a line graph. Generally number of occurrences (frequency) is listed on the left side and percentage on the right. This type of chart is used to graphically summarize and display the relative importance of the differences between groups of data. For example, perhaps you have determined, or at least speculate that your widgets are being rejected due to improper fittings, defective sorting machine, too large or too small, or other. If you look at the reports or studies and gather data on each of these reasons for failure, you can then plug the numbers into a chart. You may have assumed the reason for rejection was because the widgets were too large to fit through the tunnel. However your numbers may actually show (the data will validate) that indeed there was nothing wrong with the size of the widget, but rather the sorter was bent, thereby causing the good pieces to bounce into the reject bin. Typically you isolate five categories to measure. A Pareto chart can be constructed by separating the data into categories. Lets look at another example. If your business was investigating the delay associated with processing mortgage applications, you could group the data into the following categories: No signature, address not valid, illegible handwriting, existing customer and other. The left-side vertical axis of the Pareto chart is labeled Frequency (the number of counts for each category), the right-side vertical axis of the Pareto chart is the cumulative percentage, and the horizontal axis of the Pareto chart is labeled with the group names (categories) of your response variables. Are you getting the idea? Your bottom row will be labeled: No signature, address not valid, illegible handwriting, existing customer and other. Each title will have a corresponding column associated with it. Next determine the number of data points that reside within each group and construct the Pareto chart in a spreadsheet program; Excel works very well for these types of charts. The difference between a Pareto and a typical bar chart is that the Pareto chart is ordered in descending occurrence importance. Once you have your Pareto constructed and you can visually see what the data is telling you, and you will be able to answer a few questions. You will be able to determine the largest issues facing your team, department or business; you will be able to see what 20% of sources are causing 80% of the problems; and lastly you will know where you should focus your efforts to achieve the greatest improvements. No more guess work. You wont be needlessly wasting more time and money trying to fix problems that werent broken. Call a staff meeting and get to work on your potato, er a Pareto Charts! Nokia Mobile Phones - The August Monarch

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Deshawn_Jon]Deshawn Jon Mobile phone giant Nokia is always looked up to with awe as it has been instrumental in equipping its users with the best mobile phones in the recent times. So You Want to Know What A Colonic Is

By Heather McKenzie MacGumerait What is colon hydrotherapy? Colon hydrotherapy, also known as a colonic, is a safe and gentle flushing of the large intestine, or colon, with filtered water. My clients recline on a comfortable massage table with a heating pad behind them during the 35 55 minute session. Water is slowly introduced into the colon as the client relaxes. When the water is released, it flows out of the body through a tube and is flushed directly into the septic pipes. There is no mess, no running to the restroom. Most people are relieved at how easy the experience is compared with their expectations! What are the benefits of colon therapy? Colon hydrotherapy is recommended for constipation, diarrhea, gas and bloating, IBS, headaches, lower back pain, acne, allergies, colds and more. Four to twelve sessions can improve the muscle tone of a spastic or sluggish colon, permanently alleviating chronic diarrhea or constipation. Many women find that a monthly session minimizes the symptoms of PMS. Anyone cleansing benefits from colon therapy, as it can help alleviate symptoms such as headaches, joint pain and nausea associated with fasting or cleansing. Clearing the large intestine out may give your body some extra energy to dedicate to boosting the immune system. Most people say they feel lighter and more energetic after colon therapy sessions. Does it hurt? Colon therapy can be uncomfortable at times, although not painful for most people. Can a colonic remove the black tar or rubbery snakes lining my intestinal walls? The body produces a mucus layer to protect and lubricate the large and small intestines. Over time and under stress, mucus can build up, trapping waste with it. I do not believe that colon therapy alone can remove this mucosal plaque. Many people use colon therapy in conjunction with fasting and supplements to loosen and wash away any old material. How often do people receive colon therapy? I recommend that people start with two sessions in the same week for maximum benefit. After that, it depends on your particular situation. For long-term constipation you may need as many as 12 sessions. I suggest a monthly session to keep the colon in great shape. Is there anyone who should not receive colon hydrotherapy? Anyone with unregulated high or low blood pressure, serious heart conditions, Crohns disease, diverticulitis or ulcerative colitis should check with their doctor before receiving colon therapy. Pregnant women should not receive colon therapy. Does it wash away the friendly bacteria? Friendly bacteria like to live in a clean, healthy environment. The bad guys, who cause discomfort and sometimes illness, thrive in waste. Cleansing the colon gives the good guys a boost by clearing out the potentially toxic material. Just as it does not wash away all of the good bacteria, it cannot by itself wash out all of the bad bacteria or parasites. Many herbal products are available for that purpose. Do I need to do anything special to prepare for colon therapy? Many people come in without changing anything. Some people use colon therapy to help them transition into a healthier diet. Some people receive colon therapy while fasting or doing other dietary cleanses. You should not eat two hours before a session and should not drink for an hour before a session. What is a colon hydrotherapy session like? Colon hydrotherapy is a simple process that takes about an hour. You will recline on your back in a semi-upright position on a massage table, dressed in a full-length medical gown, for the duration of the 35 55 minute session. The colon therapist will usually palpate the abdomen to identify areas where there may be impaction of fecal matter. The process of a colonic is very simple. The part of the session that scares people the most is the insertion of a tube into the anus. Each client receives a wrapped, new tube. The tube is well lubricated before we begin and goes only a few inches into your body. It is certainly a strange experience for most people, but not painful unless the client has severely inflamed hemorrhoids. The most commonly used instruments are plumbed like a sink with hot and cold water and a drain. I control the water temperature and the pressure of the water coming into your body. When I close the drain, water slowly fills your large intestine. When I open the drain, water and waste flow out of the body through the tube and are flushed directly into the septic pipes. There is no mess, no smell and no running to the restroom. At the end of the session you will go to the restroom and release whatever did not come out during the session. Some people hold some water in the large intestine and release it later in the day. You will be able to go about your normal daily activities.
